While we usually don’t publish our roadmap, we thought it’s time for a little outlook as it’s a busy summer with some big changes ahead for Untold Novel – the novel planning tool for iOS and iPadOS.
First of all, the rumors did come true – Apple had indeed announced a dramatic redesign of iOS – well actually of all their operating systems. The term you are looking for is Liquid Glass. Not surprising with such a dramatic rework, Apple is still tweaking the level of Liquid Glass at the moment, so we couldn’t make a final decision about how far potential adjustments in Untold Novel will go, but we got a pretty solid idea as to where this all will lead. Nothing to spoil just yet, though.
Second – and part of the reason we aren’t too worried about iOS 26 not showing it’s final shape yet – is Untold Novel for macOS, which we are working on right now. Quite some time ago we’ve decided against releasing the iPad version for macOS. Untold Novel is a rather complex app that deserves a native macOS version, so we are going down that rabbit hole. This also means that we needed a new concept for this, as naturally macOS apps look much different compared to iOS and iPadOS apps.
Third and final change: The first feature update for Untold Novel will get bigger than initially planned. We made sure to collect as much feedback from our users as possible to make it a great update. Alongside the usual bug fixes, we are finally going to introduce iCloud syncing. Along with this, we’ll also introduce a proper backup solution. While syncing alone is a worthwhile update, we are – among other stuff – going to introduce a Pomodoro timer to help authors keep their focus during writing sessions.
That’s enough spoiling for now. The complete changelog will be available in the coming weeks – once the update is released.
